Coastal Andalusians began as a dream in June 2005, when Debra Titone and Patti Firpo decided to bring Andalusians to the people on the West Coast. Located just 20 miles south of San Francisco, California, Coastal Andalusians became a reality when Deb went on an Andalusian quest. After doing their homework over the course of several months, the two located five Andalusian mares, which would become their foundation, in several states. Based on research, history and bloodlines, Coastal Andalusians was born.
Two mares, Daifa H and Feminista H, were with foal to Gitano MOR, Terri Meador’s Herradura Andalusian Black Bay Stallion. Gitano MOR, a three time National Champion had garnished his share of awards at the annual IALHA show.
Hermosa, one of the bay mares purchased, had the bloodlines going back to AGENTE, JUGLAR and MALUSO. Coastal Andalusians decided to also purchase for their breeding program two of Hermosa’s daughters, Galena G and Kara G to keep the bloodlines open after Hermosa was retired from breeding.
Our goal here is to breed Bay Blacks with little or no white. The first crop of fillies in 2006 proved just that. Born with no white, these first Coastal Andalusian fillies exhibit the phenomenal characteristics known to the breed.
In 2007, we were blessed with one remarkable filly, Gialina, and two outstanding colts, Corazon and Decension.
In October of 2007, Coastal Andalusians acquired Tornado BV from Bravata Andalusians. He will begin his breeding season in the Spring of 2009. Tornado BV comes from impressive bloodlines on both his Dam and Sire sides. Both parents are inscribed in the Spanish Stud Book. He is pure black. Having him here takes us one step closer to Patti's and my goal to raise blacks and black bays with no white.
Also in October 2007, Coastal Andalusians acquired NINO JUGADOR, a statusque grey dappled five year old stallion. He will be standing at stud in Spring of 2008. Refer to our stallion page. This stallion is a 'must see'. Patti or I would be happy to have you come down to 'be' with him
